Description

We are seeking a positive and professional Recruiting Specialist to join the Talent Acquisition team at the Pappas Restaurants Main Office in Northwest Houston. The Recruiting Specialist is primarily responsible for attracting, identifying, and onboarding restaurant management positions. This position will also take a primary role with on-campus recruitment efforts that will include some travel during each academic semester to engage with hospitality and culinary students.

Responsibilities
• Partners with leadership on staffing needs and helps to develop a recruiting strategy. Updates stakeholders on progress.
• Conducts interviews, assesses candidates’ skills and qualifications, and evaluates fit for our roles.
• Ensures candidates and hiring managers experience a fast and easy interviewing process.
• Coordinate and participate in on-campus recruitment activities, including career fairs, guest lectures, and networking events, to build a pipeline of entry-level management candidates.
• Develops working relationships with university, college, and community affair programs to aid in recruiting.
• Evaluates efficiency/ROI of recruiting efforts.
• Researches and provides guidance on best practices and sources to increase exposure.
• Updates job ads and submits to ad agencies for placement on various job boards as well as applicable colleges/trade schools.
• Tracks recruiting spend and submits invoices for payment.
• Leverages personal restaurant management experience to evaluate candidates’ potential and offers insight on recruitment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of candidates in the applicant tracking system.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a current or former Pappas Restaurants Supervisor or Manager
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Strong understanding of Pappas Restaurants’ operations and development pathways
• Ability to travel during academic semester
• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Interviewing knowledge, skills, and ability, as well as an understanding of applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of job and social networking sites
• A high level of organization skills, can set priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
