Description

We are seeking a positive and professional Human Resources Business Partner to join the Pappas Restaurants Main Office based in Northwest Houston. The Human Resources Business Partner provides support for team members and restaurant management on employee performance issues. In this role they will listen to concerns, conduct investigations, provide training and coaching on HR issues. This role will serve as a partner to leaders on human resources-related issues, assess, and anticipate HR-related needs. The HR Business Partner will communicate needs proactively and work collaboratively with the HR department and leaders to develop cohesive and consistent solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Receive complaints/inquiries from employees regarding clarification of company policies, concerns in the workplace, etc.
• Investigates issues and document in employee relations software
• Follow up with employee and management on the outcome of the investigation
• Provide guidance and coaching to management to make appropriate disciplinary decisions
• Works closely with HR team for best possible outcomes, ensuring consistency with company policies
• Responds to unemployment claims weekly, preparing General Managers for appeal hearings and attending hearings as necessary
• Facilitates HR training to restaurant management in Management Training Program and participates in the development of training content.
• Translates emerging themes into clear action plans and deliverables, tracking measures of success, managing risk, communicating progress and milestones to stakeholders, and enlisting the support of others through a shared vision

Requirements

• Positive, patient, and professional attitude
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in any field of study
• Strong knowledge and understanding of employment law with 3-5 years HR Generalist/HR Business Partner experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can adjust communication to the level of the listener when needed
• A thorough investigator with the ability to articulate investigation findings
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate training in a professional, engaging, and effective manner
• Highly collaborative team player with the ability to embrace to change quickly
• Self-starter and capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision and eager to take on new assignments
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines as necessary
• Certified HR Professional preferred (PHR, SPHR, sHRBP, or SHRM-CP)
