The Pappas family, a prolific group of Texas restaurateurs responsible for Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse and more, is opening a Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse in Plano.

Delta Blues is a full-service barbecue and Southern restaurant serving brisket, ribs, burgers and steaks. Its website notes that this isn’t the kind of place where customers “wait in line and eat off of a plastic tray.” Like its upscale Mexican restaurant Pappasito’s, Delta Blues appears to be a dressed-up version of a well-known cuisine.

The first and only Delta Blues restaurant is in Webster, Texas, southeast of Houston. The Plano restaurant makes two. Delta Blues is separate from Pappas Bar-B-Q, another Pappas family restaurant with more than a dozen locations in the Houston area.

Plano’s Delta Blues will be located on the Dallas North Tollway, in place of a former Bone Daddy’s House of Smoke.

It’s still under construction now, but it’s expected to open before the end of 2019.

“We’re really excited to open this concept in the Dallas area, and we’re especially excited to be in Plano,” says Christina Pappas, director of marketing.

Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse will be located at 3916 N. Dallas Parkway (near W. Parker Road), Plano.
